The Aeris Compumask is probably showing us the glimpse of the future of diving. The CompuMask has a tiny LDC -liquid crystal display, made by Digital Optic System, which shows all critical dive data, like current depth, elapsed dive time, cylinder pressure and dive time remaining, while allowing the diver to stay concentrated on the dive. The Compumask HUD has wireless cylinder pressure receiver, microprocessor, depth transducer, user- replaceable battery, and controlling software. The image on the LCD is clear and magnified, and viewable in any dive conditions. It is easy to see by most people, even those with poor vision. The Aeris HUD CompuMask has a transmitter connected to the first stage high-pressure port. The transmitter sends tank pressure data to the mask. Frequencies are different for each mask, so more than one diver can swim with the Compumask without interfering with each other. The mask can be used as a regular, non-air integrated dive computer. Aeris has a great guide video, explaining how to make the best of your Aeris Compumask HUD. Features• No hose (hoseless) air integrated technology• Digital Optic System in-mask • Patented Decompression Algorithm (Air Time Remaining) • Four dive modes: Nitrox, Air, Gauge and Free Dive Modes • Sound and Visual Alarms with User Alarm Acknowledgment • Backlight can be adjusted for brightness during the dive • Backlight can be setup as on demand or full-time • Diver-Replaceable Batteries - Safety stop count-down timer • User-Replaceable Batteries • Count-down safety stop timer What customers sayCustomers find it wonderful to have all the information needed and not to need to look down at a console or a watch. They suggest that the best place to put the wireless transmitter is on the right side of the first stage to keep them linked. They found that it would have been good if this computer had digital compass. The customers found the mask challenging to use on night dives: when the diver turns off the lights to watch the bioluminescence, he or she needs to close one eye to get the full effect because of the backlight. In general, customers are very pleased with the Compumask and they believe that the mask is the future of the dive computers. |
