The Aeris XR1 dive computer is available for an incredibly low price for the range of features it offers. It is air only, but it is easy to read and use because of clear and visible graphics and icons. To make things even easier, this computer comes with oversized digits and a split-screen display. The only problem noticed was the battery cover, which tends to be unreliable and difficult to open and close. It is considered among divers to be a great entry-level dive computer. Features• Air modes • Manual and water activation • Indicator for variable ascent rate • Diver-replaceable battery • Battery changeable between dives without loosing data ("Hot Swap") • Customize the data during a dive with a press on the button • Color-coded graphic data • Safety stop count-down timer • 12 Dive Log Book
What customers sayCustomers are happy with the large range of features that this dive computer offers, in spite of its compact configuration and consider it an excellent entry level computer. Older divers were particularly pleased with its large numbers, which make reading the computer's data very easy.One-button system, which allows the diver easy access to data even if wearing thick gloves is considered very useful. Particularly noted features were: that the computer monitors the dive time and depth remaining, alerts the diver about the requirements for safety stop, nitrogen tissue loading rates, adjustments for altitude, decent/ascent rates, no-fly times, and more. One customer complained that the Aeris XR1 still cycles through the tables after the diver reaches the surface. Another found the temperature reading inaccurate. The memory indicator of ascent rate was also found lacking, since in every dive the 3 bar maximum indication gets exceeded. The suggestion is to have an average ascent rate readout at the end of each dive. There were several comments about the design change for the battery compartment from the coin slot to a new, much more complicated configuration. As a consequence, one customer had problem with the o-ring when he attempted a battery change and had the flood in the battery compartment. He suggested to sell the computer with an extra O-ring. |
