Product Description

The Suunto Cobra dive computer is the only computer on the market with profile memory, that is air-integrated and has air, Nitrox, and gauge modes. Among standard features, the Cobra shows tank pressure and calculated remaining airtime. The air use data is stored in a logbook as a used-pressure information for future use.

Cobra uses RGBM logarithm (Reduced Gradient Bubble Model) to calculate decompression stops. This algorithm is unique for Suunto’s and it predicts both free and dissolved gas in the tissue and blood of divers. The advantage of this algorithm over Haldane model is its adaptability to a variety of diving conditions. The Cobra also features three-step altitude and personal adjustments, also unique for Suunto.

What customers say

Customers love Suunto Cobra for its versatility and multiple features like air integration, changeable metric or imperial system, programmable for altitude change, air and Nitrox use, it is adaptable for different fitness levels of divers, dive planning to ensure maximum diving time, the option to download dives into the dive log, and so much more.

Another popular feature of the Suunto Cobra is that its memory saves data from 36 hours of diving, regardless of how many dives were performed, what means that the diver can keep all vacation dives in the memory for later download into the log. Customers like the air integration of the Cobra as well. It allows the diver to monitor the real air consumption instead of estimated dive consumption, and extend the dive.

Some customers like and others dislike the conservative ascent speed (33ft / min) vs. recommended speed of 60ft / min. The beginners like the safety over speed, while the experienced divers can never have enough speed. One customer complained about the Quick Disconnect feature, which was leaking, due to the dry grease near the O-ring, but it was easy to repair. Most reviewers find the alerts both timely and intuitive (flashing for minor problems, beeps for major ones). Also, the Cobra is very easy to master and learning to use it is intuitive and simple.
