What The Customers Are Saying

Customers who bought this watch are divided between loving it and being very disappointed. One of the most common complaints is that it is hard to read: the background is in black, and the alphanumeric letters are in silver-white. It is important to note that the Suunto Core wrist top computer is available with white background.

Another weak point of the Core is considered to be the Mode button (one of the three setup buttons, which have to be used in combination) acts up and some customers had problem with it even after they have received the replacement watch. Many customers also complained that the directional rotation ring for compass is difficult, or impossible, to turn without nails.

One of the most advertised features of the Suunto Core is the storm alarm feature, based on the barometer reading. Unfortunately, divers complain that this feature does not do what it promises and it goes off in a seemingly random fashion.

One customer made a very valid point: the Core takes some time to get used to, and it is possible that some customers did not bother with the instructions before giving up on their Core. Also, it seems that there were some problems with one of the manufacturers’ plant, which were later corrected. But, the biggest problem are very high expectations customers have for the Suunto products, and the problems they had with the Core left them disappointed.
